This June, my sister, Vicki, joined with 6,324 other amazing people and walked from Kenosha, WI, to Chicago, IL in three days. That's right, we did it, and we're still alive!!

Day 1 started out overcast and a bit chilly, but the sun came out and it warmed up just as we got started. By lunch time, it was alternating between rain and sunshine, which made life a bit miserable, but we marched on anyway!! Once we got to camp, I went and got a wonderful massage on my legs and feet while Vicki set up the tent (thanks, Vicki!) After showering (and regaining sensation in my legs!), we went to supper (excellent food) and listened to some entertainment. Lights out was wonderful--I've never been so happy to sleep in a tent in my life!

Day 2--after a really good night of sleep, and a hearty breakfast (perhaps too hearty--read on), Vicki and I set off for the longest walk--23 miles. What can I say, I ate something that didn't agree with me (eggs, I think) and got REALLY sick. I ended up taking a short ambulance ride (first time!) to the local hospital for fluids and antiemetics. Vicki walked on...
After a few hours and a couple liters of fluids, I was back to new and ready to enjoy camp activities and a good nights rest.

Day 3--a PERFECT day. The temperature and the scenery was beautiful. We took a short bus ride (very adventerous as our bus broke down on a very busy highway!) to the starting point and headed toward Evanston. Our instructions--take a right at the lake! Lake Michigan was a beautiful sight, and the breeze off the lake was perfect for keeping us comfortable. At the end of the walk, a yummy lunch (PB&J!) and then awesome closing ceremonies--very inspiring!

I want to thank everyone who gave me their support--financial and otherwise. I'll be back next year, and this time I'm going to skip the eggs!!

Be sure to check out my photos!!
See you next year!

*THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT! I COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT EACH OF YOU...YOU ARE THE BEST!!!*
